Fay and Dan’s New York Destination Wedding Part One

Following on from Fay and Dan’s Wedding Rehearsal Dinner is the first part of their New York Wedding. Probably one of the coldest and earliest starts to any wedding that I’ve photographed. Getting up and about before the sun so I could catch the sunrise from the Standard High Line Hotel where Fay was staying. I didn’t stay cold for two long though with a couple of dashes across New York helping to keep me warm.

Fay and Dan’s Wedding Ceremony was held at St. Bart’s Church located next door to The Waldorf Astoria where Dan and his Groomsmen were preparing. St. Bart’s is a truly amazing setting for a church wedding with the choice of having your ceremony in the impressive main church or the intimate chapel.

Here are some of my favourite images from preparations to the ceremony with part 2 following next week, with images from their Wedding Reception at Studio450 New York and portraits around Manhattan.

Katie and Mark’s Tissington Hall Wedding

My first post this week is a look back at Katie and Mark’s Autumn Wedding at Tissington Hall

I started the day with Katie and her bridesmaids who were getting ready at Tissington Hall, before taking a short journey across the Tissington Estate to St. Mary’s for the ceremony.

The wedding party then headed back to the beautiful grounds of Tissington Hall for the Wedding Breakfast and Reception.

Here are a few of my favourite images.

Fay and Dan’s New York Wedding Rehearsal

Being from and working primarily in the UK, I had previously not had the opportunity to photograph a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner until Fay and Dan’s New York Wedding. From what I have read and seen on TV, the purpose of a wedding rehearsal is to give the opportunity for family and friends of the Bride and Groom to meet as a warm up to the wedding day. With any wedding this is definitely a benefit, but I should imagine especially so in Fay and Dan’s case as their families live on either side of the Atlantic and their friends spread across all 5 continents.

What’s great about Rehearsal Dinners is that it gives the wider wedding party, such as the Father of the Groom and the Bridesmaids, the opportunity to toast the couple and share a few anecdotes.

The rehearsals started at St. Bart’s Church, before heading off to a bar for a few drinks and then over to the Rehearsal Dinner at Cellini’s.

Here are some of my favourite images from Fay and Dan’s New York Wedding Rehearsal Dinner.

Liz and Adrian’s Winter Wedding at Makeney Hall

As we head into the last few weeks of winter I thought it would be a good time to share some images from Liz and Adrian’s winter wedding at Makeney Hall, Derbyshire. Married on the 23rd December on a bright and crisp afternoon in Derbyshire, Liz and Adrian were joined by their family and friends at Makeney Hall to celebrate their love and the start of the Christmas festivities. My day started at Makeney Hall in the late morning with Liz and her bridesmaids.

Here are some of my favourite images from the day.
