A little advise for all the Grooms to be… think very hard about your choice for your Best Man and in this case as Richard so perfectly demonstrated at Hassop Hall, if you’re having multiple Best Men then expect heavy ammunition from all fronts.

I’ve always enjoyed photographing and listening to the speeches at weddings, especially the Best Man speech. A mix of hilarious stories dug up from past exploits and words of wisdom for the years to come always make for great moments to capture.

This image was from Sally and Richard’s summer wedding at Hassop Hall in Derbyshire.

With shooting a few Engagement Shoots this year and with fair few to go I wanted to have a throwback to this Image from Abi and Paul’s Summer Engagement Shoot in Nottinghamshire.

I’ve always enjoyed Engagement shoots as it gives me and the couples I meet the opportunity to have a little bit of fun with the camera and a catch up prior to their wedding. It’s a great way to welcome in the celebrations and maybe give some beautiful images to my clients that they can use for Save The Dates and other wedding stationary.

This image of Abi and Paul was the first we took during their Nottinghamshire Engagement shoot. Blessed with almost clear blue skies, warm sun and a gentle breeze we could ‘t have wished for better settings for their Engagement Shoot.

You can see more of my Engagement Shoots in the galleries and more will be coming to the blog soon.

Laura and Scott’s Engagement Shoot Preview

Yesterday I spent what was a beautiful evening photographing this brilliant couple around Derbyshire. Laura and Scott’s wedding is later this summer and I’m very excited to be capturing some amazing moments.

Here’s one little preview from their Engagement Shoot with more to follow in the coming weeks.

This moment from Winnie and Xinhai’s Summer wedding at Blackbrook House is easily one of my favourite images within my portfolio and one that often gets spoken about during consultation with clients, so this weeks Image of the week seemed the perfect opportunity to put this photo under the spotlight.

There’s nothing quirky about the composition and it hasn’t been edited in any complicated way. Whilst shooting and when editing this image I made the decision to keep it simple, maintaining the original beauty, authenticity and power of the moment.
